SAINT BASIL THE GREAT

Άγιος Βασίλειος ο Μέγας (329-378)

The chapel of Saint Basil the Great is in the main building "Karyes", nearby the main Church of Evangelismos. It is still in-progress and has not yet been consecrated, but it has a very rich iconography on its walls painted by Päivi Kristiina Loikala. There are wall paintings e.g. of the Nativity, Transfiguration and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ as there are painting of the holy disciples in the midst of their Teacher and those of the holy martyrs of Sebaste and holy Church Fathers and Ascetics of the first centuries.
